About the role
Respiratory Therapists are vital members of a multidisciplinary care team at a community hospital, providing expert respiratory care to a diverse patient population, including infants and adults. They work in high-acuity areas such as the ER, ICU, and Med-Surg units.
Responsibilities
- Conduct patient assessments
- Perform both general and critical care respiratory procedures
- Manage neonatal respiratory care
- Analyze and interpret blood gases
- Maintain equipment
- Educate patients and families in adult and neonatal settings
Qualifications
- An Associates Degree in Respiratory Therapy Sciences is required
- Previous neonatal respiratory care experience or successful completion of department-specific training is essential
- Certifications include RRT, BCLS, ACLS, NRP, and PALS, all necessary upon hire
