Registered Respiratory Therapist I

About the role

Under the supervision of a qualified physician, performs diagnostic cardiopulmonary evaluations and provides respiratory therapy treatments for patients with cardiopulmonary deficiencies and abnormalities.

Responsibilities

• Initiates, modifies, and conducts procedures such as administering medical gases, aerosolized medications, postural drainage, and supporting mechanically ventilated patients.
• Performs pulmonary function testing, hemodynamic and physiologic monitoring, and collects blood and other specimens.
• Documents patient information accurately, communicates with healthcare team, and educates patients and families about cardiopulmonary conditions.
• Maintains, calibrates, troubleshoots respiratory equipment, and completes competency requirements.
• Demonstrates interpersonal skills for effective teamwork and may supervise staff in absence of a supervisor.
• Performs additional duties as needed.

Requirements

• Requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, with 0-5 years of work experience.

Qualifications

• Frequent standing, bending, lifting up to 50 lbs., and working in various environments and shifts, including nights.
• Strong sensory and motor skills are essential, along with the ability to work under stress and in latex-safe environments.
