About the Role
Provides direct respiratory care, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation, following hospital and departmental guidelines. Demonstrates advanced clinical expertise, serving as a resource within the patient care team, and ensures patient safety through age-appropriate, quality-compliant care.
Responsibilities
- Communicates effectively with the healthcare team through documentation, handoffs, and collaboration.
- Educates patients, families, students, and staff on respiratory treatments and procedures, utilizing diverse learning styles.
- Maintains accountability, seeks continuous learning, prioritizes tasks, and manages time efficiently.
- Performs diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory procedures per standards and guidelines, troubleshooting as needed.
- Supports advanced clinical responsibilities such as ECMO, mechanical ventilation, bronchoscopies, sleep studies, and CPR, among others.
Requirements
- Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program.
- Licenses and certifications including Basic Cardiovascular Life Support, Respiratory Care Practitioner, and RRT.
- Strong communication, clinical, and critical care skills.
