Responsibilities

  • Use x-ray equipment to obtain images of the body interpreted by a Radiologist
  • Prepare patients for the exam, move and instruct them into the proper position
  • Correctly operate the equipment to obtain a high-quality image while minimizing radiation dose
  • Specialize in more specific imaging techniques such as bone densitometry, cardiovascular-interventional radiography, computer tomography, mammography, magnetic resonance imaging and nuclear medicine
  • Work varying hours on days, evenings or nights as a PRN caregiver
  • Perform general radiology exams, portable exams and fluoroscopic procedures
  • Produce quality images for interpretation with accuracy and without delay
  • Acquire, archive, transmit and print images via PACS
  • Ensure patient comfort and safety during and after the exam
  • Educate patients regarding procedures, equipment and exams to ensure understanding and cooperation
  • Maintain documentation
  • Address equipment malfunctions, notify management and report malfunctions to the help desk and PACS administrator
  • Assist with scheduling procedures, monitor and determine priority of patients and process billing

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology
  • Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (R.T.(R) - ARRT), in good standing
  • Current state licensure as a Radiology Technologist
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Knowledge of anatomy and related pathologic processes

Qualifications

  • Minimum qualifications: Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology, Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (R.T.(R) - ARRT), in good standing, Current state licensure as a Radiology Technologist, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, Knowledge of anatomy and related pathologic processes
  • Preferred qualifications: One year of experience as a General Radiologic Technologist, Physical Requirements: Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time, Must be able to lift or assist with lifting patients of varying weight and manipulate equipment daily, Personal Protective Equipment: Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required

Skills

Knowledge of anatomy and related pathologic processes, ability to operate x-ray equipment, proficiency in specialized imaging techniques, excellent communication skills, attention to detail, ability to work independently and as part of a team, physical stamina to lift and assist with lifting patients.

Pay Range Minimum hourly: $34.00 Maximum hourly: $34.00

Schedule
