About the role
The Registered Radiology Tech is responsible for accurately and efficiently performing Imaging exams according to physicians' orders and protocols. This clinical position requires skills and experience in imaging and knowledge of anatomy. The Registered Radiology Tech must support the mission of providing Sacred Work to all who enter the doors of Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas.
Responsibilities
- Perform radiography and portable exams proficiently and safely.
- Possess basic knowledge of anatomy, skeleton, gastrointestinal, pulmonary, and other systems, as well as sterile techniques as they relate to radiographic studies.
- Apply principles of radiation safety in all areas of use, adhering to the ALARA concept; minimize repeats and use safety devices.
- Complete data entry in both PACS/RIS, including histories, fluoro time documentation, contrast documentation, patient dose history, and thoroughly review orders and consents as applicable.
- Perform fluoroscopy procedures proficiently and competently set up sterile trays and assist physicians with fluoro exams.
- Perform radiography proficiently in all areas, including C-arm operations in surgery.
- Participate in clinical oversight of student trainees.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
- Current certification with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) within 90 days.
- Licensed by the Texas Medical Board (TMB).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days.
