Registered Radiological Technologist - Ortho Clinic

About the Role

Provides diagnostic radiographic exams of patients for use by physicians in the development of diagnoses and treatment plans.

Responsibilities

• Perform radiographic examination procedures and protocols.
• Operate diagnostic x-ray equipment.
• Position patients properly to maximize results.
• Prepare and administer contrast solutions.
• Apply radiation safety and aseptic principles.
• Communicate with a wide variety of people from diverse socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all personnel contacted in the course of duties.
• Ensure efficient, effective, and safe use of equipment.
• Adhere to quality assurance and quality control measures.
• Follow department and hospital safety practices, infection control policies, and emergency response procedures.
• Apply age-specific patient care practices.

Requirements

• Equivalent to graduation from high school and graduation from an accredited school of radiology.
• Valid American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) certification in Radiography.
• State of Nevada License in Radiology.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification accepted by the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Office Lab Assistant License within thirty (30) days of hire (applies only to employees hired into a Quick Care, Primary Care, Express Care, or other ambulatory care cost center as applicable and determined by leadership).

Preferred Qualifications

• Trauma experience.
• Ortho experience.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

• Mobility to work in a typical clinical setting, including stamina to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time.
• Vision to use standard office equipment and read printed materials including a VDT screen.
• Hearing and speech to communicate in person or over the telephone.
• Strength and agility to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
