Registered Nurse - Wound Care per diem

About the role

A Scheduled Weekly Hours of 0 per diem position is available for a Registered Professional Nurse specializing in wound care. This role requires expertise in delivering high-quality care to patients across various demographics, cultures, and conditions. Certification in wound care and familiarity with Cerner and Wound Expert are beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Cover staff time off in a busy outpatient wound care clinic, ensuring continuity of care for patients.
• Apply the nursing process to deliver direct and indirect outcomes in accordance with SMH policies, practice guidelines, and nursing standards.
• Function within policies, practice guidelines, and nursing standards as outlined by the Massachusetts Nurse Practice Act, CDC, and OSHA.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of acute care experience.
• New graduate nurses may be considered for some positions.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Completion of orientation and annual competencies.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications

• Positive interpersonal communication skills, including verbal and written English.
• Good organizational skills and adaptability.
• Commitment to continuous quality improvement and preventing errors.
• Ability to effectively communicate with all age levels served.

Education

• Successful completion of appropriate pretests/exams, classroom orientation, and precepted clinical orientation.
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.

Licenses/Certifications

• Current Massachusetts state RN license.
• Ongoing clinical competencies and continuing education documentation.
• Required certifications based on position: BLS, ACLS (for certain roles), NRP (for LDRP), PALS (for ECC and PACU).

Age Specific Criteria

Ability to effectively communicate with all age levels served within the scope of the position/assigned areas.

Salary Range

The salary range for this position is $35.88 - $55.56 per hour. Actual compensation will be determined based on work history, experience, skill set, and education. This does not include the value of Sturdy Health's benefits package, which includes healthcare/dental/vision and retirement benefits.
