About the role

Functions within the Outpatient Department to assist patients and medical staff within the ambulatory care setting. Responsible for the overall operation of the Clinic, maintaining skill sets, annual competencies, certifications, participating in in-services and educational programs, completing mandatory training, attending staff meetings, adhering to infection control policy and procedures, maintaining a clean and safe working environment, addressing employee concerns, and addressing safety hazards.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical services, including working with providers, clinic staff and management to ensure excellent quality of care and services, efficient utilization of resources and compliance with SEARHC standards.
  • Lead and direct clinic staff to ensure efficient operation of all aspects of the clinic, including the front desk and patient care to all patients.
  • Maintain medication inventory and supplies not on the Warehouse PAR system.
  • Ensure quality control checks are done with the Point of Care tests.
  • Document all care and services provided professionally and in a timely manner.
  • Oversee the opening and closing of provider clinics.
  • Aid providers and other staff as needed, anticipating their needs to ensure efficient and quality patient care.
  • Communicate effectively with other departments to be an effective resource for patients, providers, and fellow clinic staff.

Requirements

  • Current full, unrestricted Registered Nursing license in Alaska or other U.S. state required.
  • Direct Hire must have applied for an Alaska nursing license before start date.
  • Agency staff must have an active Alaska license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Clinical Competency required within 3 months of hire and every three years.

Qualifications

  • 1 year of acute care experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Nursing process and ability to apply it in the working environment.
  • Customer service principles.
  • Safety and infection control principles.

Shift Details

Urgent Care Clinic hours are Sunday-Saturday, 8am-8pm. Key Essential Functions And Accountabilities Of The Job includes providing clinical services, leading and directing clinic staff, maintaining medication inventory and supplies, ensuring quality control checks, documenting all care and services provided, assisting providers and other staff, communicating effectively with other departments, and overseeing the opening and closing of provider clinics.
