Registered Nurse, Triage

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for incoming clinical calls, electronic messages, and symptom management needs.
• Perform comprehensive nursing triage using evidence-based protocols to assess acuity, escalate appropriately, and coordinate timely interventions.
• Collaborate with providers to manage treatment-related symptoms, toxicities, and urgent clinical concerns.
• Provide patient education, reinforcement of care plans, and guidance on symptom monitoring and follow-up.
• Accurate, timely documentation in the EMR to support continuity of care and risk management.
• Ensure accurate, timely documentation in the EMR to support continuity of care and risk management.
• Support standardized triage workflows to ensure timely, consistent patient responses.
• Escalate system issues, access barriers, or process inefficiencies impacting patient care.
• Participate in quality improvement, pathway development, and clinical workflow optimization.
• Serve as a clinical resource for staff regarding triage protocols, symptom management standards, and care coordination practices.

Qualifications

• Ability to work a flexible schedule as necessary.
• Associate’s Degree of Science in related field, or Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred.
• Active RN license for the state of Wyoming in good standing.
• Experience working with oncology patients, preferred.
• 2-4 years of experience, preferred.
