Registered Nurse Trauma Specialist- FT Nights

Responsibilities

• Responds and acts as the primary RN to all Level 1 & 2 trauma alerts.
• Manages the care of the trauma patient until final disposition to the OR, ICU, IR, floor, home, or placed into the main ED.
• Maintains all equipment and supplies in the trauma bay.
• Assumes responsibility and accountability for the management of resources to achieve efficient, high-quality outcomes for each patient including support for interdisciplinary and cross facility collaboration.
• Serves as a resource to bedside staff regarding trauma education.
• Works in collaboration with the trauma team, data analysts, department leaders, staff and patients to develop and support the trauma program's performance improvement initiatives.
• Affords assistance with preparation for American College of Surgeons survey.

Qualifications

• 5 years of RN experience in Emergency or ICU.
• Associates Degree in Nursing.
• Current Louisiana RN License.
