About the role
The Transfer Center Coordinator is a full-time Registered Nurse responsible for managing and coordinating EMS interfacility patient transfers across West Michigan.
Responsibilities
- Partner with EMS dispatch to prioritize and triage transfers
- Facilitate timely and safe patient movements
- Collaborate with clinical teams and facilities to optimize patient flow
- Communicate critical clinical and logistical information
- Support discharge transports
- Identify barriers to patient flow
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing
- Current Michigan RN license
- BLS certification
- At least 5 years of acute care clinical experience
- Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree
- Professional certification
- Experience with utilization management or process improvement
- Familiarity with electronic medical records such as Epic
