Registered Nurse - The Birthing Suite - Per Diem
About the Role
Join our team as a per diem Registered Nurse in The Birthing Suite at Monadnock Community Hospital. This role offers daily challenges and endless learning opportunities in an 8-bed LDRP unit where we deliver over 350 babies annually. You will be cross-trained in all aspects of obstetrical care and work alongside a well-established OB/GYN and pediatric group in a collaborative team environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing interventions to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Collaborate with physicians, fellow nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records of patients' conditions, treatments, and progress. Report any changes or concerns promptly to the appropriate team members.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring adherence to hospital policies and protocols.
- Educate patients and their families on disease management, treatment options, and preventive measures to promote overall wellness.
- Offer emotional support and advocate for patients' rights, ensuring they receive compassionate and respectful care.
- Comply with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines to maintain a safe and ethical work environment.
- Stay updated on medical advancements, best practices, and industry standards through ongoing professional development activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the New Hampshire Board of Nursing.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; Baccalaureate in nursing strongly preferred.
- Previous OB Nursing experience is strongly preferred.
- Certification in specialty strongly preferred.
- NRP and STABLE certifications required.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and equipment.
- Maintenance of confidential information.

Schedule
This is a part-time, per diem position with variable shifts, primarily nights, totaling 24 hours per week.
