About the Role

The 4100 Telemetry Unit at Bethesda North Hospital is a 38-bed stroke-certified unit specializing in the care of patients with complex cardiovascular and neurovascular conditions. As part of the TriHealth system, the unit offers comprehensive care for individuals with arrhythmias, heart failure (with an upcoming LVAD program), and those undergoing procedures such as pre/post cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology interventions, and structural heart procedures including WATCHMAN and MitraClip.

4100 Telemetry Unit focuses on chronic heart conditions (Congestive Heart Failure, early LVAD potential). The team provides continuous monitoring and specialized care for NSTEMI patients, heart failure management, and post-procedural recovery. With a focus on advanced electrophysiology, the unit cares for patients requiring pacemakers, ablations, and defibrillators. The 4100 Tele Unit delivers evidence-based, compassionate care, ensuring the best outcomes through patient-centered treatment and the latest medical technologies.

4100 Telemetry Unit works closely with ICUs and serves as a pathway to grow in critical care. The team is collaborative, dedicated to supporting patients through every phase of their cardiac and neurovascular journey, with an emphasis on safety, recovery, and quality of life.

Responsibilities

  • Performs initial and ongoing assessment of patient and family; documents findings per unit/TriHealth guidelines and communicates them to healthcare providers
  • Plans care based on assessment, standards of care, and optimal outcomes; develops short- and long-term goals with patient/family and healthcare team, including discharge planning
  • Provides a safe, therapeutic environment, maintaining patient autonomy, dignity, and rights; balances priorities of patient needs and unit/facility requirements
  • Recognizes emergency situations and takes appropriate action; completes patient assignments and documentation within scheduled timeframes
  • Bases interventions on clinical data and desired outcomes; documents accordingly
  • Trains and educates staff; acts as an expert resource in specialty areas
  • Effectively communicates and executes physician orders
  • Evaluates and revises the plan of care in collaboration with the patient, family, and healthcare team; supervises delegated care
  • Performs technical skills according to policy and procedure; safely administers medications/treatments and monitors effects
  • Uses equipment safely; demonstrates organizational responsibilities, including self-improvement, functioning in relief/charge roles, and maintaining current knowledge

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree or Diploma in Nursing
  • New hires required to obtain BSN within 5 years of hire
  • BLS/CPR (Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers)
  • Registered Nurse with knowledge, judgment, and skills derived from biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences to meet complex healthcare needs

Preferred Qualifications

  • Membership in a related professional organization
  • More than 1 year full-time or 2 years part-time acute care experience
  • Certification in specialty

Schedule

Full-Time (36 hours weekly) • Days – 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM • On-site inpatient role at Bethesda North Hospital
