About the role
A Clinic Practice Nurse at GRMC Multi-Specialty Network ensures timely and safe care of the highest quality to all patients. This role involves establishing nursing policies and procedures, developing care plans, and achieving quality standards. The nurse assesses and evaluates patient needs, supports physicians and mid-level providers, and delivers high-quality care in the office setting.
Responsibilities
- Obtains patient history and performs assessment via observation, interview, and examination.
- Conducts focused intake processes using the clinic Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and documents patient assessments.
- Collects, analyzes, and interprets clinical data and information.
- Reviews and interprets diagnostic studies, focusing on critical values and timely action items, then communicates outcomes to physicians and mid-level providers.
- Monitors outcomes of all scheduled tests and procedures, ensuring timely completion and notifications.
- Directs patients and families for procedures and testing.
- Provides telephone advice and triage to patients using approved protocols.
- Counsels and educates patients and families on preventative health, treatment options, and community resources.
- Maintains a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic clinic environment while ensuring confidentiality and quality standards.
- Maintains accurate, legible, and confidential records.
- Oversees patient care provided by Medical Assistants.
- Manages medication oversight.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- New Mexico or multi-state RN license.
- BSN preferred.
- BLS certification (American Heart Association).
- Experience in a surgical practice, equivalent office nursing, or supervisory nursing experience preferred.
- Two years of acute care experience preferred.
- Computer proficiency.
- Familiarity with EMRs.
- Ability to work with highly stressed patients in a fast-paced environment.
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.
