Registered Nurse Supervisor (3rd shift)

You will help manage daily care, uphold high standards, and ensure residents receive the attention they deserve in a meaningful environment.

About the Role

This position focuses on supervising nursing care, guiding staff, and ensuring safe and accurate health services for residents in a veterans home. You will oversee daily care, maintain compliance, and support quality improvement efforts.

Responsibilities

• Nursing Supervision: Mentor nurses in daily treatments, observations, and resident care activities.
• Staff Coordination: Assign personnel, review time records, and maintain required nursing care hours.
• Care Monitoring: Check documentation, care plans, and assessments for accuracy and compliance.
• Quality Oversight: Evaluate data, identify safety concerns, and recommend improvements to procedures.
• Leadership Duties: Interview, coach, evaluate, and support staff to meet facility expectations.

Schedule

• Full-time employment, 80 hours biweekly.
• Work hours are 3rd shift (11:00 PM to 7:30 AM) and include working every other weekend and a 30-minute lunch.
• Training will be conducted on the day shift.
• Telework is not available for this position.

Pay

Starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Requirements

• Three years as a Registered Nurse (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
• Four years of professional nursing experience providing care and treatment services consistent with those needed for individuals with a mental or physical injury or illness and/or a developmental disability.

Qualifications

• Active authorization to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania. Employees with a temporary practice permit must obtain full licensure within one year as defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.
• Ability to perform essential job functions.

Additional Information

• PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
• A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
• This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act. A conditional offer will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including PA State Police and FBI clearance.
