Registered Nurse - Stress Disorder Treatment Program PTSD DOM

About the role

The Domiciliary Mental Health (MH) Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing competent, evidence-based care. The domiciliary RN provides patient-centered and recovery-oriented care and maintains self-awareness while caring for patients living with substance use disorder and/or MH conditions. The RN actively participates in MH interdisciplinary treatment team, patient safety and environment of care rounds, and responds to psychiatric and medical care needs as directed.

Responsibilities

• Deliver professional practice using the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation) with general supervision.
• Responsible and accountable for individual nursing practice and determines the appropriate delegation of tasks ensuring assigned delegated tasks are completed by team members.
• Provide Veteran/patient-driven care by optimizing the patient experience, satisfaction, and/or safety for assigned patients.
• Communicate and collaborate as an effective member of the interprofessional team, demonstrating progression from team member to team leader.
• Establish a therapeutic relationship, allowing the patient to achieve optimal function through assessment and treatment of their health enhancing the patient experience, satisfaction, and/or safety.
• Demonstrate the ability to communicate confidently with members of the healthcare team and demonstrate professional behaviors that promote cooperation and teamwork.
• Sought out knowledge and learning opportunities that support current nursing practice and self-evaluation.
• Apply evidence-based practice/research, considering patient preferences to improve quality of care and resource utilization for assigned patients.
• Seek out new learning opportunities and share evidence-based practice/research with peers to improve patient care.

Qualifications

• Basic Requirements: English Language Proficiency, Basic Education Requirements, Current, Full, Active, and Unrestricted Registration as a Graduate Professional Nurse in a State, Territory or Commonwealth of the United States, or the District of Columbia.
• Grade Determinations: Scope, Education, and Dimension criteria must be met in determining the grade assignment of candidates, and if appropriate, the level within a grade.
• Preferred Experience: BSN preferred; mental health nursing experience preferred.

Pay, Benefits, and Schedule

Pay: Competitive salary, regular salary increases, potential for performance awards

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 3:30PM-12:00AM (weekend rotation as needed)
