Overview
Department: Step Down Cardiac Care (Progressive Care Unit) (Cardiac Care Unit)
Shift’s Available: Nights
Employment Type: Part Time
Hours: 12hr 7pm - 7pm
Location: Providence Medical Center – Kansas City, KS
Responsibilities
- Delivers decisive, high-acuity patient care while closely monitoring patients, and care coordination for optimal patient outcomes.
- Monitor patients' cardiac status, vital signs, and telemetry data to detect any changes or abnormalities, which is crucial for patients recovering from cardiac procedures, heart attacks, or other cardiac conditions.
- Administer medications as prescribed by physicians, including intravenous drugs, cardiac medications, and pain management medications.
- Perform assessments of patients' cardiac status, including physical assessments, review medical histories, and evaluate symptoms.
- Provide education to patients and their families about cardiac conditions, treatment plans, medications, lifestyle modifications, and self-care practices.
- React promptly to cardiac emergencies, including arrhythmias, cardiac arrests, or respiratory distress, necessitating immediate implementation of emergency procedures, administration of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and aiding in defibrillation and other crucial life-saving measures.
Qualifications
- Must have current and valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the State.
- BLS upon hire and maintain current.
- Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.
- ACLS within 30 days of hire and maintained current.
