Primary Responsibilities
- Develop and implement nursing plan of care for patients.
- Communicate the plan of care to patients as prescribed by physician: test results, scheduling of specialized tests and treatment modalities, prescription drug instructions and other patient education.
- Document treatment in medical record appropriately.
- Using the nursing process, triage patient concerns via telephone and provide nursing advice.
- Receive phone calls relating to appointments, urgent care, inpatient admissions, prescription refills and test results in accordance with clinic protocols and coordinate proper disposition of each.
- Obtain, review, verify and/or complete health care forms related to home health care, referrals, medical equipment and other patient/physician needs as appropriate.
- Assist with managed care authorization and complete insurance and medical forms for patients or assist patients in completing the forms.
- Help maintain patient flow and workflow.
- Work collaboratively as a team member of the clinic staff to provide a high quality and efficient service to patients and clinic.
- Maintain patient confidentiality.
- Assist with clinical trials according to protocol, if required.
Qualifications
- Appropriate experience may be substituted for education on an equivalent basis.
- Minimum Required Education: Associate’s Degree in Nursing.
- Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
- Preferred Experience: Previous clinic, doctor’s office or urgent care experience preferred.
- Required Certification/Licensure(s): Current Wisconsin RN License.
