About the Role
Provides professional nursing care for assigned patients according to established standards and practices. Duties include assessment of patients, developing a plan of care, implementing the plan of care, and evaluating the plan of care. This position requires a high quality of care to meet the Hospital's core mission.
Responsibilities
- Adheres to the hospital and departmental attendance and punctuality guidelines.
- Performs all job responsibilities in alignment with the core values, mission, and vision of the organization.
- Performs other duties as required and completes all job functions as per departmental policies and procedures.
- Maintains current knowledge in present areas of responsibility (e.g., self-education, attends ongoing educational programs).
- Attends staff meetings and completes mandatory in-services, requirements, and competency evaluations on time.
- Demonstrates competency at all levels in providing care to all patients based on age, sex, weight, and demonstrated needs.
- For non-clinical areas, attends training and demonstrates usage of age-specific customer service skills.
- Wears protective clothing and equipment as appropriate.
Requirements
- 2-year / Associate Degree in Nursing from a state-accredited school (Required).
- 4-year / Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from a state-accredited School of Professional Nursing (Preferred).
- 1–2 years of nursing experience (Preferred).
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) with a current Georgia license.
- Advanced Stroke Life Support (ASLS) or Georgia Stroke Core Curriculum (GSCC) and National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) must be obtained within 2 years of hire.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained prior to completing unit orientation.
