Registered Nurse - Shults Pediatrics (Northshore & Maryville)

About the role

Shults Pediatrics (Northshore & Maryville), a division of Summit Medical Group, is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse (RN) who is both professional and friendly, with a passion for working with patients and their families.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and updates patient records as required by physician(s)/practitioner(s) using the electronic medical records (EHR) system.
• Contacts patients regarding test results or other related reasons as directed.
• Escorts patients to exam rooms and prepares them for examinations and procedures, including recording vital signs (pulse, blood pressure, height, weight, etc.).
• Performs procedures such as phlebotomy, injections, EKGs, and Holter monitor application, and assists physicians/providers with other procedures as needed.
• Administers medications and provides patient education as required.
• Maintains stocked, neat, and clean exam rooms and common work areas daily.
• Handles phone nursing duties, including triaging, pre-certifications, referrals, calling in prescriptions, etc.
• Adheres to established company policies and procedures, including the corporate compliance program, and follows state and federal regulations such as OSHA and HIPAA guidelines.
• Follows site-specific protocols and expectations.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; vocational or college credits preferred.
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a medical office setting.
• Proficiency in using EHR systems and Microsoft Outlook.
• Current Tennessee Registered Nurse (RN) License.
