Location: Anoka, MN – Anoka Metro Regional Treatment Center (AMRTC), a 15-minute drive north of the Twin Cities metro.

This is a part-time, unlimited, classified position (0.8 FTE / ~64 hours per pay period) on a rotating shift (7 am–3:30 pm, 3 pm–11:30 pm) that includes every-other-weekend coverage. Telework is not eligible.

About the role

AMRTC is an inpatient psychiatric hospital serving adults with mental illness, including individuals civilly committed for specialized care such as competency for criminal court (Rule 20), emergency 48-hour bed holds, and co-occurring mental illness/chemical dependency. The facility provides compassionate, person-centered care in a modern campus setting.

In addition to performing Registered Nurse duties, this senior-level role assists the Registered Nurse Supervisor in managing the delivery of high-quality nursing care on the assigned unit. The position may be eligible for a hiring incentive of up to $10,000 (current state employees are not eligible).

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the RN Supervisor to ensure compliance with facility policies, program requirements, and regulatory standards.
  • Provide clinical support and leadership to nursing staff.
  • Assume charge nurse responsibilities as assigned on the unit.

Qualifications

Minimum

  • Current Minnesota Registered Nurse licensure.
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing plus two years of experience as a Registered Nurse; OR
  • Associate’s degree or diploma in nursing plus three years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
  • Certification in a relevant specialty area may substitute for one year of Registered Nurse experience.

Preferred

  • Experience working with individuals with severe and persistent mental illness.

Requirements

  • Resume must clearly describe experience in the listed areas, including beginning and ending month/year for each job held.
  • Reference and criminal background checks will be conducted prior to appointment.
  • Applicants must provide a copy of their high school diploma or college transcript/degree at the time of interview (college degree/diploma must clearly identify the field in which it was earned).
  • Documentation of freedom from tuberculosis via a blood test is required prior to employment (TB skin tests are not accepted).
  • Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States at the start of employment; Direct Care & Treatment does not provide work-visa sponsorship or participate in E-Verify.

Pay

Hourly salary range: $42.20 – $62.48.
