Registered Nurse Same Day Surgery/PACU - City Campus - Full Time
About the role
The Registered Nurse is a member of the interdisciplinary team working in collaboration with the Physician. The Registered Nurse utilizes the nursing care process consistent with their license and/or certification including initiation of culturally competent continuum of care including inpatient, outpatient and community settings. The Registered Nurse is responsible to oversee any necessary coordination of the interdisciplinary plan of care and provides for its consistency with the medical treatment plan.
Responsibilities
- Utilize the nursing care process consistent with their license and/or certification.
- Initiate culturally competent continuum of care including inpatient, outpatient and community settings.
- Oversee any necessary coordination of the interdisciplinary plan of care and ensure its consistency with the medical treatment plan.
- Perform limited laboratory services such as patient identification and preparation for specimen collection, processing samples for testing, performing required quality control testing, and instrument maintenance and function checks.
- Maintain competency/certification of tasks and duties related to limited laboratory services.
- Document the assessment, plan, intervention, and evaluation of patient care activities.
- Support performance improvement initiatives and provide leadership to other members of the patient care team.
- Participate in educational activities to assume responsibility for continued professional and personal growth.
- Perform emergency room duties including trauma experience, ACLS, ATCN, PALS, and other required certifications.
- Perform intensive care unit (ICU), critical care, cardiovascular ICU (CVU), heart and vascular unit (HVU), and telemetry experience as required.
- Perform endoscopy, interventional radiology, cath lab, electrophysiology (EP), and recovery room critical care experience as required.
- Perform radiation oncology and chemotherapy and biotherapy competency provider responsibilities as required.
- Perform structural heart experience as required.
Requirements
Proficiency in clinical applications preferred at time of hire; incumbents within position will be trained appropriately and then skill will be required for this position within 30-60 days from date of hire.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred.
- Nurses hired without BSN must be enrolled in a BSN program within 1 year and completion within 3 years.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey or current multi-state license required.
- BLS required.
- Valid NJ Driver's License is required for all employees in the Adult and Child Partial Programs.
Skills
Phlebotomy, EKG, IV insertion, ACLS, PALS, CCRN, CGRN, OCN, ONS, CNOR, and other relevant certifications as required.
