About the role

The Registered Nurse (RN) is a licensed professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, implementation and evaluating care of patients. The staff RN utilizes the nursing process by use of technology, therapeutic intervention, and coordination of care with other health team members.

Unit/Location

Roy Clinic; may also float to North Ogden and Layton InstaCares.

Shift details

PRN, primarily weekend coverage; expected to pick up at least one 12-hour shift per week.

Preferred Qualifications

• RN with experience preferred
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution

Job Essentials

• Assessment: Performs appropriate assessment of physical, social, and psychological status; seeks and evaluates information from interdisciplinary team and patient/family.
• Planning: Uses assessment and critical thinking to collaboratively develop individualized plan of care; involves patient and family; prepares for further support needs.
• Implementation: Directs interdisciplinary care team via delegation, coordination, and collaboration.
• Evaluation: Evaluates patient response to interventions; revises plan of care as indicated; reassesses changes as appropriate.
• Professional Development: Promotes the nursing profession; participates in development of others; integrates legal and ethical standards; meets competency requirements; participates in quality improvement initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications

• Current RN License in state of practice
• Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers
• Practice-specific certification as required (e.g., ACLS, PALS)
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
• Basic computer skills
• RNs with less than 12 months of experience must obtain BSN within four years of start date

Physical and Sensory Requirements

• Frequent need to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, and identify equipment and supplies
• Frequent verbal communication and hearing to understand spoken information, alarms, and patient needs, especially during emergencies
• Manual dexterity to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision; frequent computer use and typing
• Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients; bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment of varying weights, including heavy items
• Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining/distributing supplies and equipment; may push/pull gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items
• May be required to stand in a stationary position for extended periods

Holiday and Weekend Expectations

Will work a minimum of 2 holidays per year; primary need is weekend coverage.

Pay

$35.22 – $53.29 per hour (actual rate dependent upon experience)
