About the role

The Women's Health Department at Meadowview Regional Medical Center provides comprehensive patient care across multiple specialty areas, including Labor and Delivery, Postpartum, Women's Health Surgical Services, and the Newborn Nursery. The department delivers direct patient care using the nursing process in alignment with the organization’s policies, values, and mission.

Responsibilities

  • Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
  • Documents patient care given.
  • Maintains accurate and timely documentation of patient care, including progress notes, vital signs, and medication administration.
  • Maintains a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and staff.
  • Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
  • Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
  • Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
  • Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

Requirements

  • Average of 1-2 years of recent, relevant clinical experience in a hospital setting.
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license to practice in the state of Kentucky.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within one month of hire.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required within six months of hire.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required within six months of hire.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Nursing (RN) required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
