About the role

The Upstate Family Health Center, a Federally Qualified Health Care Center (FQHC) in Utica, NY, seeks passionate and dedicated Registered Nurses to join their team. Clinic hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 6:00pm.

Responsibilities

  • Multidisciplinary process of providing care and treatment to patients
  • Supports and assists the professional, medical, and other staff
  • Monitors clinical team workflow, delegates tasks as needed
  • Completes paperwork to the fullest within the RN scope of practice
  • Tends to patient sick calls
  • Maintains exam rooms for necessary supplies and materials
  • Administers office medications as prescribed by Providers
  • Performs Point of Care Testing as ordered by the Provider
  • Maintains/reviews patient records, charts and other pertinent information
  • Maintains patient confidentiality
  • Attends in-service training, team and other appropriate medical, staff and health center meetings
  • Universal Duties: Attends any mandated continuing education/training programs, complies with all pertinent regulatory and agency regulations, establishes a work environment that creates positive communication between supervisors and employees, participates in activities as part of the team, promotes and maintains a safe working environment, attends any other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • 1 to 2 years of experience preferred, but open to new graduates
  • Unencumbered Registered Nursing License
  • 1-3 Years’ Experience In Medical Office
  • 1-3 years of experience working with EMR systems and data reporting
  • Intermediate PC skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Share Point)
  • Ability to act calmly and effectively in an emergency situation
  • Ability to be flexible to respond to changing demands
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

Physical Demands

  • Bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, twist, balance, work at a desk
  • Lift and carry up to 60 pounds
  • Communicate (written and oral) in a clear and professional manner
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Physical demands include typing and operating a personal computer with various software programs, effectively operating standard office equipment, bending, stooping, crouching, kneeling, twisting, balancing, and working at a desk, lifting and carrying up to 60 pounds, communicating (written and oral) in a clear and professional manner, establishing and maintaining effective work relationships with co-workers and patients, maintaining regular attendance, understanding and carrying out a variety of oral and written instructions, having knowledge of proper English usage, grammar, punctuation, spelling, and vocabulary, having the ability to learn office principles, practices, and methods, understanding filing systems, including numerical, alphabetical, and chronological, learning a variety of procedures, policies, and services of the assigned work unit or program, performing assigned duties with efficiency and accuracy, maintaining confidentiality, certain deadlines and unanticipated developments may require work during evenings and weekends, ability to quickly address any emergent issues without losing focus on the task at hand
