Responsibilities
- Supervise nursing staff on assigned shift by monitoring the distribution of medications, blood draws, and other elements of patient care.
- Conduct nursing rounds on each unit multiple times throughout the shift.
- Provide education, as needed, to staff, residents, and resident family members.
- Assess the unique needs of each patient to determine appropriate treatment plans.
- Track treatments and patient progress according to HIPAA guidelines.
- Coordinate with supervising physicians to ensure a smooth recovery process for residents.
- Ensure staff are performing all duties in accordance with local, state, and federal guidelines.
- Other duties as assigned by the Assistant Director of Nursing, Director of Nursing, or Administrator.
Requirements
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
- Current, unencumbered New Jersey Registered Nurse License.
- Previous long-term care experience is preferred but not required.
- Prior experience in inpatient and palliative care is preferred.
- Prior experience managing staff is preferred.
- Licensed Practical Nurses may be considered.
Schedule
Full time, MOD (morning, overnight, or day shift).
