Registered Nurse (RN) Unit Manager

About the role

The Registered Nurse (RN) Unit Manager at Hamilton Arms Center will oversee the care, systems, and processes that deliver the resident care. This position requires a compassionate and enthusiastic Registered Nurse with leadership experience in long-term care.

Responsibilities

• Supervises nursing care provided by nursing assistants, licensed vocational/practical nurses and others for whom they are administratively or professionally responsible.
• Carrries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizational policies and applicable laws.
• Interviews, recommends hires and trains employees.
• Plans, assigns and directs work.
• Possesses leadership and supervisory ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel.
• On Call Weekend, once a month.
• Reviews and implements all nursing procedures and systems relative to the unit(s).
• Promotes and protects resident's rights; assists residents to make informed decisions; treats Residents with dignity and respect.

Requirements

• Must possess valid unencumbered RN state license.
• BSN preferred.
• Two (2) years of experience preferred as a supervisor in a hospital, nursing care facility, or other related health care facility.
• Must have, as a minimum of six (6) months experience in rehab and restorative nursing practices.
• Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to nursing care facilities.
• Possesses leadership and supervisory ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel.
• Must successfully complete a post offer, pre-employment criminal background check and physical / drug screen.
