Requirements of the Registered Nurse (RN) Unit Manager:

  • Must possess valid unencumbered RN state license
  • BSN preferred
  • Two (2) years of experience preferred as a supervisor in a hospital, nursing care facility, or other related health care facility
  • Must have, as a minimum of six (6) months experience in rehab and restorative nursing practices
  • Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to nursing care facilities
  • Must possess leadership and supervisory ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel
  • Successfully complete a post offer, pre-employment criminal background check and physical / drug screen

Responsibilities of the Registered Nurse (RN) Unit Manager:

  • Supervises nursing care provided by nursing assistants, licensed vocational/practical nurses and others for whom they are administratively or professionally responsible
  • Carrries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizational policies and applicable laws
  • Interviews, recommends hires and trains employees
  • Plans, assigns and directs work
  • PCC, Point Click Care knowledge
  • Reviews and implements all nursing procedures and systems relative to the unit(s)
  • Promotes and protects resident's rights; assists residents to make informed decisions; treats Residents with dignity and respect
