Registered Nurse (RN) Unit Manager
About the role
The Registered Nurse (RN) Unit Manager at Schuylkill Center oversees the care, systems, and processes that deliver resident care. This position is ideal for a compassionate and enthusiastic RN with leadership experience in long-term care.
Responsibilities
- Supervises nursing care provided by nursing assistants, licensed vocational/practical nurses, and others for whom they are administratively or professionally responsible.
- Carrries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws.
- Interviews, recommends hires, and trains employees.
- Plans, assigns, and directs work.
- Demonstrates knowledge and clinical expertise to effectively supervise all nursing activities in the facility or units to which assigned.
- Reviews and implements all nursing procedures and systems relative to the unit(s).
- Promotes and protects resident's rights; assists residents to make informed decisions; treats residents with dignity and respect.
Requirements
- Must possess valid unencumbered RN state license.
- BSN preferred.
- Two (2) years of experience preferred as a supervisor in a hospital, nursing care facility, or other related health care facility.
- Must have, as a minimum of six (6) months experience in rehab and restorative nursing practices.
- Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to nursing care facilities.
- Must possess leadership and supervisory ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel.
- Successfully complete a post-offer, pre-employment criminal background check and physical/drug screen.
