About the role

As an ICU Registered Nurse, you will care for patients with a wide variety of conditions and have the opportunity to learn advanced skills, including:

• RotoProne therapy
• SLED (Sustained Low-Efficiency Dialysis)
• EKOS therapy
• Intraventricular monitoring and drainage
• Bolts
• TPA administration
• TTM (Targeted Temperature Management)
• TNCC or ATCN paid certification
• Trauma Responder
• Removal of arterial sheaths

Our dedicated Registered Nurses are actively involved in department Shared Leadership and facility-wide committees. You will also have the opportunity to participate in and receive support for nationally recognized certifications. We are currently seeking experienced ICU Nurses but are also accepting applications from those with PCU/Telemetry, Medical/Surgical, or other acute or critical care backgrounds. You will have the opportunity to utilize our self-scheduling tool for shift and weekend coverage.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural, and discharge planning needs.
• Review patient history and physical with patient/family, ensuring completion within the appropriate timeframe.
• Review available information obtained by other healthcare team members, diagnostics, and laboratory data; report abnormal results to physicians and caregivers.
• Complete assessment and reassessments according to patient need and policy.
• Formulate a plan of care, including discharge planning, utilizing assessment data and input from the patient, family, and healthcare team.
• Initiate a realistic, measurable plan of care in conjunction with the patient/family, considering their specific needs.
• Plan care in collaboration with members of the multidisciplinary team and review/revise the plan to reflect changing patient needs.
• Implement the plan of care through direct patient care, coordination, delegation, and supervision of healthcare team activities.
• Provide care based on physician orders and the nursing plan of care, complying with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Delegate appropriately and provide nursing supervision for patient care by other licensed nurses and personnel.
• Promote continuity of care by accurately communicating patient status to other caregivers.
• Evaluate the patient's and family's response to care and teaching; revise the plan of care as needed.
• Evaluate patient progress toward goals and expected outcomes in collaboration with the healthcare team.
• Document assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in the patient record in a legible, timely, and policy-compliant manner.
• Provide care based on the best evidence available and participate in research activities within clinical practice.
• Participate in unit or facility shared leadership, education, role development, and orientation of personnel, patients, students, families, and visitors.
• Promote/support the growth of others through precepting and mentoring.
• Contribute to excellent patient outcomes through timely, effective, efficient, equitable, and safe care.
• Actively participate in improving national nursing quality indicators and outcomes, including professional organizations.
• Interact with staff at all levels, physicians, patients, families, and external contacts to report or clarify information.
• Synthesize and prioritize data from multiple sources to support the human response of the patient and family to health status changes.

Requirements

• Current, valid RN license in the state of practice, temporary/interim RN license, or compact RN licensure for the current state of practice.
• BLS certification is required; additional certification or continuing education may be required based on the area of practice.
• Experience in the clinical area for which you are applying is desired.
• Must maintain clinical performance competencies appropriate to the area of work, demonstrated through annual validations.
• Banner Registry and Travel acute care positions require a minimum of one year of experience in an acute care hospital setting within the past 12 months as a Registered Nurse in the specialty area.
• Banner Registry and Travel physician practice positions require a minimum of one year of experience as a Registered Nurse in a physician practice or acute care setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Professional certification preferred.

Pay

• Enjoy an 18% night shift differential.
• Flat rate $3/hour weekend shift differential.
• $15,000 sign-on incentive for RNs with a minimum of 12 months of ICU experience; requires a 2-year commitment.
• $10,000 sign-on incentive for RNs with a minimum of 12 months of RN experience; requires a 1-year commitment.
