About the role

The 16-bed Medical Surgical Trauma Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is a high-acuity environment in a Level 1 Trauma facility dedicated to the care of critically ill patients facing complex and life-threatening conditions. This unit routinely admits individuals with sepsis, spinal cord injuries (SCI), respiratory failure requiring intubation, skeletal traction, and complex surgical needs. Staffed by a multidisciplinary team of experts, the ICU is equipped to deliver advanced hemodynamic monitoring, aggressive interventions (e.g., proning, CRRT, titrating vasopressors) tailored to each patient's needs. The unit emphasizes rapid response, evidence-based care, and critical thinking to optimize outcomes in a dynamic and challenging clinical setting.

Responsibilities

• Plans and coordinates patient care, assessment, education, triage, and various other nursing interventions
• Collaborates with colleagues, including physicians, to plan, implement, and evaluate care
• Empathetically cares for patients during all stages of preventive services, health maintenance, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up along the continuum of care
• Demonstrates competency and uses comprehensive nursing expertise

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program required, including, but not limited to, American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), and National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA)
• Bachelor’s Degree in nursing preferred
• Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring and/or possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state
• Obtains and subsequently maintains required department-specific competencies and certifications

Pay

Salary Range: $34.00 - $48.00 per hour. Sign-on bonus available to eligible applicants!
