Registered Nurse (RN) Trainer (Contract Only)

Essential Functions

• Ensure Rule 116 is followed at all sites.
• Provide supervision and training to RN Nurse Trainers on Rule 115 and 116.
• Aid with and be knowledgeable of the general health status of residents.
• Review, track, and participate in Quality Assurance for all medication errors.
• Audit sites for compliance of Rule 115 and 116.
• Review and update policies and procedures of LSSI and DHS/DDD.
• On-call availability for consultation.

Position Qualifications

• Unencumbered Illinois Professional Registered Nurse license required.
• Background check clearance required.
• Minimum of one (1) year clinical professional experience within the past five (5) years required.
• Ability to become and RN Nurse Trainer through DDD required.
• Experience working with individuals with development disabilities preferred.
• Experience providing leadership and training to nursing and direct care personnel preferred.
• Participation in ongoing learning opportunities to keep skills current required.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate in a clear, comprehensible manner, verbally and written.
• Excellent organizational skills and basic PC/computer skills, including experience using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) along with other related software required.
• Valid driver’s license, in good standing for the state of residency required.
• Access to reliable transportation required.
• Valid IL statutory minimum liability insurance coverage, bodily injury and property damage required.
