Registered Nurse (RN) - Surgical ICU

About the role

Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association

Responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
• Use evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication.
• Create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.

Requirements

• The Surgical ICU is a 21 bed unit caring for a broad spectrum of high acuity patients.
• Nurses partner closely with a highly collaborative group of physicians and nurse practitioners.
• Hone a wide range of skills, including complex dressing changes, and extracorporeal therapies like CRRT and MAR.
• The unit is known for its complexity and acuity of patients, offering a variety of patient surgical procedures for experience and learning.
• Athorough and specific comprehensive orientation prepares new grads to be experts in a fast-paced, critical environment.

Qualifications

• New grads are provided with a solid orientation plan focusing on their unique needs while starting their careers in a highly complex unit.
