Registered Nurse (RN) - Surgical Critical Care Complex - Day/Midnight
About the role
The Surgical / Trauma Intensive Care Unit (Surgical Critical Care Complex) at ChristianaCare operates the only Level I Trauma Center between Philadelphia and Baltimore. This unit is part of a cohesive Nursing Team that serves patients with a multidisciplinary approach, including neurosurgical, general surgical, and adult/pediatric trauma patients.
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans.
- Assess and document patient conditions accurately and timely.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Participate in ongoing education and professional development activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; commitment to obtaining within three years of date of hire.
- Minimum 1-2 years stepdown experience in critical care.
- Critical Care experience strongly preferred.
- BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred.
Pay
Hourly Pay Range: $41.28 - $66.05
Schedule
This is a Day/Midnight rotating schedule of 7 a.m. - 7:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. - 7:30 a.m. Weekend and Holiday schedule is per departmental & organizational practices.

Qualifications
Qualified candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Current BLS certification.
- Commitment to obtain BSN within three years of date of hire.
- Experience in critical care setting.
Skills
Strong communication skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and proficiency in critical care nursing practices are essential.
