REGISTERED NURSE (RN) - SURGERY CENTER PRE-OP/PACU

About the role

This is a full-time, 1.0 FTE position in the Surgery Center's PACU/Pre-Op Unit. Duties include directing and providing professional nursing care, delegating nursing assignments, preparing schedules, overseeing admissions and discharges, and monitoring and ordering medicines and supplies.

Responsibilities

• Direct or provide nursing care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Work both pre-op and recovery
• Utilize a 2:1 patient-to-nurse ratio, with flexibility based on department needs
• Delegating nursing assignments
• Preparing schedules
• Oversight of admissions and discharges
• Monitoring and ordering medicines and supplies

Requirements

• Previous PACU, critical care or emergency room experience strongly preferred
• Current RN licensure in the State of Idaho
• BSN preferred
• Proof of Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
• AACLS certification within six months of employment
• PALS certification within six months of employment
• Demonstrated skills in verbal and written English communications for safe and effective patient care and to meet documentation standards
• Awareness of professional nursing standards and performance by them
