REGISTERED NURSE (RN) - SURGERY CENTER PRE-OP/PACU
About the role
This is a full-time, 1.0 FTE position in the Surgery Center's PACU/Pre-Op Unit. Duties include directing and providing professional nursing care, delegating nursing assignments, preparing schedules, overseeing admissions and discharges, and monitoring and ordering medicines and supplies.
Responsibilities
- Direct or provide nursing care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Work both pre-op and recovery
- Utilize a 2:1 patient-to-nurse ratio, with flexibility based on department needs
- Delegating nursing assignments
- Preparing schedules
- Oversight of admissions and discharges
- Monitoring and ordering medicines and supplies
Requirements
- Previous PACU, critical care or emergency room experience strongly preferred
- Current RN licensure in the State of Idaho
- BSN preferred
- Proof of Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- AACLS certification within six months of employment
- PALS certification within six months of employment
- Demonstrated skills in verbal and written English communications for safe and effective patient care and to meet documentation standards
- Awareness of professional nursing standards and performance by them
