About the role
Awarded the position of Supervisor, Nursing, this individual assumes responsibility for directing hospital-wide patient care activities and overseeing operations on an assigned shift.
Responsibilities
- Ensures patient care is delivered in accordance with the ANA Scope and Standards of Care and Practice, Patient Bill of Rights, and the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses.
- Safeguards patient care consistency with specialty-specific standards (e.g., Oncology Nurses Association, American Association of Critical Care Nurses).
- Fosters a supportive environment for personal and professional growth among staff.
- Monitors patient care activities through direct observation and patient-focused rounds to ensure staff performance meets expectations.
- Acts as a clinical resource for staff, mentors, and participates in educational planning for identified needs.
- Presents programs to staff as necessary and communicates effectively with hospital administration on pertinent patient care and operational issues.
- Demonstrates cost-effectiveness in patient care while maintaining high-quality standards, allocating resources based on census, activity, and acuity.
- Involves in department performance improvement initiatives, evaluates outcomes, and identifies areas for process improvement.
- Utilizes evidence-based practice and research to inform clinical and leadership decisions.
- Investigates concerns from patients, visitors, and physicians and communicates findings to appropriate Unit Directors.
- Communicates confidently with hospital administration regarding patient care and operational matters.
- Self-motivated to pursue ongoing education in clinical and leadership domains.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current New Jersey license.
- Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred.
- 4-6 years of experience, 3+ years required.
- Knowledgeable in relevant national certifications preferred.

Final base compensation is determined based on employment status (Full/Part-Time or Per Diem), skills, education, and experience.
Pay
$108,160.00 - $133,120.00
