Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Nurse Manager to assess, plan, manage, and evaluate nursing care and daily operations within the Emergency Department.
  • Ensure streamlined and effective patient care delivery systems that support smooth transitions across the continuum of care.
  • Oversee staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation to maintain an efficient and high-functioning unit.
  • Drive clinical excellence through participation in departmental goal-setting and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Support financial stewardship through effective operational and resource management.
  • Facilitate orientation, training, ongoing education, and performance evaluations for nursing staff.
  • Cultivate a collaborative, team-based environment that promotes clinical excellence and compassionate care in a fast-paced emergency setting.

Requirements

  • BSN degree from an accredited school or college of nursing is required.
  • Minimum of 2 years previous RN experience.
  • 1 year of RN experience in an Emergency Department.

Qualifications

  • Current nursing licensure in state(s) of employment.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification within one month.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within one year.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life support (PALS) or Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) certification certification within 2 years.
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification within 2 years.

  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Knowledge of healthcare policies and procedures.
  • Experience with quality improvement initiatives.
