About the role
The Staffing Resource Team (SRT) is comprised of full-time staff who float through Dartmouth Hitchcock inpatient units at DHMC based on current staffing needs, providing critical support to departments.
You will utilize the nursing process to assess, diagnose, identify outcomes, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care. Critical thinking is essential to anticipate and recognize changes in patient status, modify the plan of care, or elevate concerns to the care team as needed.
Responsibilities
- Practice in accordance with the ANA Code of Ethics, advocating for patients, upholding autonomy in decision-making, ensuring informed consent, and assisting patients and families in expressing self-determination.
- Actively seek feedback and act to improve performance; engage in the governance of practice.
- Manage interpersonal relationships for self and others; mentor colleagues to advance nursing practice and the profession.
- Assume authority and accountability for patient care while appropriately delegating elements of care to the care delivery team in compliance with laws, regulations, and policies.
- Prioritize and organize time to optimize patient outcomes.
- Actively seek the most current evidence and standards, applying and translating them to daily practice.
- Role model a culture of inquiry, contributing to research, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice at the local level.
- Communicate effectively in various formats across all areas of practice; partner with others to effect positive change through knowledge exchange.
- Precept student nurses, nurse externs, nurse residents, experienced clinical nurses, and other healthcare team members.
- Perform other duties as required or assigned.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited Nursing Program.
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) with 1 year of experience or Associate Degree (ADN) with 2 years of experience.
- Licensed Registered Nurse with New Hampshire eligibility.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certificate required upon hire; higher-level certifications as applicable per unit requirements.
- ACLS Certificate required upon hire for roles in Endoscopy, Tele-ICU, Day Surgery Center at CGP (Manchester), Life Safety, and Cardiology-Echocardiography.
Schedule
Full-time, rotating day/night shifts, including holidays and weekends.
Pay
$5.00 shift differential for SRT members.
