About the role

Park Manor Health & Rehabilitation is seeking an experienced and motivated Registered Nurse (RN) Staff Development Coordinator to join our nursing leadership team. If you're an RN who enjoys teaching, mentoring, and developing other healthcare professionals, this position offers an opportunity to use your clinical experience in a different way. As our Staff Development Coordinator, you'll help ensure nurses and caregivers have the training, skills, and support they need to provide exceptional resident care. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced RN interested in nursing education, staff development, clinical training, or nursing leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate orientation and onboarding for newly hired nursing staff.
  • Develop and provide clinical education for Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and other direct-care staff.
  • Conduct nursing skills validations and competency assessments.
  • Identify educational needs and coordinate ongoing staff training and in-service education.
  • Maintain accurate employee training, competency, certification, and education records.
  • Coordinate required annual and regulatory education.
  • Provide hands-on clinical coaching and mentorship to nursing staff.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Nursing and nursing leadership to improve clinical performance and resident outcomes.
  • Support infection prevention, quality assurance, and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with survey preparation and ongoing regulatory compliance.
  • Educate nursing staff on clinical procedures, resident safety, facility policies, and standards of care.
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning, accountability, teamwork, and clinical excellence.

Requirements

  • Current Alabama Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification.
  • Nursing experience in skilled nursing, rehabilitation, long-term care, post-acute care, or geriatric nursing preferred.
  • Previous experience in staff development, nursing education, clinical training, supervision, or nursing leadership preferred.
  • Strong clinical knowledge and understanding of nursing standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent teaching, communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to effectively coach and mentor nurses and caregivers with varying levels of experience.
  • Passion for developing healthcare professionals and improving quality of care.

Pay

Base Pay: $31.00-$40.40 per hour (based on experience)
