Registered Nurse (RN) (PT, Nights)

Responsibilities

• Assess individuals and document pertinent information, including triage, behavioral health, physical health, and substance‑abuse issues.
• Demonstrate crisis‑intervention knowledge and de‑escalate potentially aggressive situations; educate consumers and families about behavioral‑health diagnoses, medications, and treatments.
• Complete detailed nursing assessments and record triage, medical/behavioral‑health assessments, and medication administration using appropriate tools.
• Accurately record all medication brought in by individuals on a medication‑reconciliation/storage form.
• Plan individual treatment as part of the multidisciplinary clinical team.
• Provide education on psychiatric diagnoses, treatment options, psychopharmacology, and overall health literacy to individuals, families, and other care participants.
• Intervene with verbal techniques to diffuse out‑of‑control or potentially dangerous behaviors.
• Apply therapeutic‑option theory and techniques; describe and demonstrate nursing roles and responsibilities.
• Demonstrate thorough knowledge of seclusion/restraint standards, guidelines, and techniques; document and debrief any incidents as required.
• Accurately transcribe provider orders and administer medications as prescribed; obtain medication‑consent signatures.
• Perform chart checks and act as a second note on prescribed medications.
• Draw labs and provide wound care as ordered by providers.
• Complete nurse‑to‑nurse handoff at discharge or when accepting an individual from another facility.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Unrestricted active license as a Registered Professional Nurse (state board) or multistate licensure privilege.
• Ability to perform Safe Clinch patient restraint techniques.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Working toward ASAM 3.7 competency with experience in alcohol or other‑drug‑focused nursing assessment.
• Mandatory vaccination policy: fully vaccinated or exempt per company process.
• Virginia fingerprint clearance.
• Pass Virginia Department of Behavioral Health & Developmental Services (VA DBHDS) background check.
• Pass Virginia Department of Social Services (VA DSS) background check.
• Physical ability to safely perform interventions (standing, pivoting, reaching, kneeling, lowering, supporting another person’s weight), lift/push/pull/carry up to 50 lb occasionally, and tolerate prolonged walking/standing in a fast‑paced environment.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
• At least 1 year of psychiatric, behavioral‑health, or relevant experience.
• Previous emergency‑room or crisis psychiatric care experience.
• Experience working with individuals with addiction and addiction management.

Pay

Virginia base salary range: $45 – $70 USD (based on experience, education, internal equity, and budget). Additional shift differentials:

• + $2/hr for Monday‑Thursday nights
• + $6/hr for Friday‑Sunday nights
• + $2/hr for Saturday‑Sunday days

Schedule

Full‑time position with rotating shifts; shift differentials apply as listed above.
