About the role
We are looking to hire a 0.9 FTE Day Shift RN for our Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine Unit (PBMU).
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, family-centered patient care using the Nursing Care Process.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in collaboration with the patient and patient's family, significant others, and members of the health care team.
- May be required to provide supervision and delegation of tasks to Nurse Technicians, Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Medical Assistants, Certified Nursing Assistants, and others as defined by the State Administrative Code.
- Assist in meeting Seattle Children's strategic goals by incorporating initiatives to support the strategic plans into the daily work.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Prior experience in a pediatric related health care setting, or a specific area of nursing, may be required for specific departments.
- Current Washington State RN License.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers.
- Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition and Stabilization (PEARS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification may be required.
- Safety Care Certification for Psychiatric Unit and Child Psych Consultation Behavior Support Team.
Qualifications
- Education/Experience: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Prior experience in a pediatric related health care setting, or a specific area of nursing, may be required for specific departments.
- Credentials: Current Washington State RN License, or other current state license that the RN is required to work in. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers is required for all positions at time of hire unless the incumbent possesses a current appropriate Life Support Education required for their practice area (refer to requirements per practice area below).
- Other Credentials: BLS must be maintained in current status until the incumbent obtains the appropriate Life Support Education required for their practice area (refer to requirements per practice area below) - NOTE: Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition and Stabilization (PEARS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) will be accepted in lieu of BLS for Healthcare Providers. ACLS will not be accepted as a substitute to the requirements listed above.
