About the role

Wilson Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for a 3x12 (7a‑7p) schedule with rotating weekends and holidays. The position is in‑person and includes a $20,000 commitment bonus. Join a 19‑bed Adult Behavioral Health Unit staffed with RNs, CNAs, Mental Health Technicians, Social Work Therapists, Recreational Therapists and Psychiatric Providers. The unit treats diagnoses including Major Depressive Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, Borderline Personality Disorder and Substance Use Disorder, managing patients with psychosis, suicidal or homicidal ideation, mania, or exacerbations of mental illness.

Responsibilities

• Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs
• Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions
• Applies crisis intervention and de‑escalation techniques
• Completes timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
• Performs timely and accurate quality‑improvement (QI) assessments

Requirements

• Current state RN license
• Degree from an accredited nursing school
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications required within six months of hire
• One year of experience preferred
• Compassionate nurse with a deep understanding of critical care principles and advanced patient monitoring
