About the role
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) provides specialized patient care for individuals with acute medical conditions, including respiratory therapy, post-transplant, and pulmonary hypertension cases.
Responsibilities
- Develops and implements individualized care plans
- Assesses physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs
- Educates patients and families
- Promotes safety and ensures quality care aligned with standards
- Works collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians, advanced practice nurses, therapists, and social workers, to deliver comprehensive treatment and rehabilitation
- Participates in professional development and maintains compliance with regulatory standards
- Cares for patients in private rooms within a 9‑bed unit
- Manages respiratory support weaning
- Collaborates within a multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes
Qualifications & Skills
- Must hold an RN license
- Nursing diploma or associate's degree required; a bachelor's degree and less than two years of experience are preferred
