Registered Nurse (RN) - PRN Rotating | Texarkana

About the role

The Registered Nurse (RN) at PAM Health is responsible for using the nursing process to deliver, direct, and supervise care to patients on the nursing unit. Responsibilities include interdisciplinary planning, discharge planning, patient and family teaching for post-hospitalization, and accessing community resources. Charge Nurses may also perform additional duties such as managing the unit during the absence of the Director of Nursing, Nurse Manager, or Charge Nurse.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to deliver, direct, and supervise care to patients on the nursing unit.
• Participate in interdisciplinary planning and discharge planning.
• Provide patient and family teaching for post-hospitalization needs.
• Access community resources as needed.
• May manage the unit during the absence of the Director of Nursing, Nurse Manager, or Charge Nurse (requires ACLS certification).

Requirements

• Holds a current RN license in the state where the hospital resides, or compact licensure if state participates.
• Current BLS certification is required.
• Evidence of ACLS certification is required within 90 days of employment.
• AHA-approved ACLS certification is required for Charge Nurses.
• One year of inpatient medical-surgical nursing experience preferred but not required.
