Registered Nurse (RN) - PRN Nights | San Antonio LTACH

About the Role

Under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer, Director of Nursing, Nurse Manager, or Charge Nurse, the Registered Nurse (RN) utilizes the nursing process to deliver, direct, and supervise care to patients admitted to the nursing unit. Responsibilities include interdisciplinary planning, discharge planning, patient and family teaching for post-hospitalization, and accessing community resources. May also perform Charge Nurse duties (ACLS certification required).

Responsibilities

• Deliver and supervise patient care using the nursing process
• Coordinate interdisciplinary planning and discharge planning
• Provide patient and family teaching for post-hospitalization
• Access community resources for patient support
• Perform Charge Nurse duties if ACLS-certified

Requirements

• Current RN licensure in the state where the hospital resides (or compact licensure if applicable)
• Current BLS certification (AHA-approved within 90 days of employment)
• ACLS certification required within 90 days of employment (AHA-approved)
• ACLS certification required for Charge Nurse role

Qualifications

• One year of inpatient medical-surgical nursing experience preferred (hospital experience, particularly LTACH or Med Surg, strongly preferred)
