About the role
Under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer, Director of Nursing, Nurse Manager, or Charge Nurse, the Registered Nurse (RN) utilizes the nursing process to deliver, direct, and supervise care to patients admitted to the nursing unit. Responsibilities include planning, coordinating, and providing patient care, interdisciplinary planning, discharge planning, patient and family teaching for post-hospitalization, and accessing community resources. May perform other related duties as assigned or requested, including serving as Charge Nurse (ACLS certification required).
Responsibilities
- Deliver and supervise patient care using the nursing process
- Plan and coordinate interdisciplinary care
- Develop and implement discharge plans
- Provide patient and family teaching for post-hospitalization
- Access and coordinate community resources
- Perform Charge Nurse duties if ACLS certified
Requirements
- Active RN license in the state of application
- Current BLS certification
- Current ACLS certification preferred initially; required after 90 days of employment (ACLS is required from day 1 for Charge Nurses, High Obs, and ICU)
- One year of inpatient medical-surgical nursing experience preferred but not required
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in emergency or critical care environments
- Comfort working with vents, trachs, PICC lines, etc.
- Two years of experience in direct patient care
