Registered Nurse (RN) - PRN

About the role

Erlanger Behavioral Health Hospital in Chattanooga, Tennessee, is a psychiatric hospital offering mental health care for adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients. This position involves providing and coordinating care, developing and implementing nursing care plans, educating patients and their families, administering medications, documenting accurately, and maintaining therapeutic rapport.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients' physical and behavioral health needs.
• Develop and implement nursing care plans.
• Maintain medical records and educate patients and their families.
• Provide nursing care and services within the standards and scope of nursing practice.
• Ensure physicians’ orders are legible and transcribed appropriately.
• Accurately administer medications and document controlled substance medication administration.
• Complete admission and discharge processing efficiently and accurately.
• Exhibit therapeutic rapport with patients, maintaining professional boundaries and rational detachment.
• Communicate therapeutically and professionally with patients, visitors, co-workers, and others involved in patient treatment.

Requirements

• Graduated from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license as required by the state of employment.
• One year of nursing experience, preferably in psychiatric, mental, behavioral, or substance use settings.
• CPR and de-escalation and restraint certification required (training available).

Education/Licensure/Experience/Skills

• Must have graduated from an accredited school of nursing.
• Must possess a current Registered Nurse (RN) license as required by the state of employment or be eligible to practice nursing in accordance with state requirements.
• One year of nursing experience, preferably in psychiatric, mental, behavioral, or substance use settings.
• CPR and de-escalation and restraint certification required (training available).
