Registered Nurse (RN) PRN

About the role

This position involves assessing residents' health, educational, and environmental needs, and developing individualized care plans through an interdisciplinary approach. The nurse communicates changes in condition to the team, documents assessments and interventions, and ensures timely and safe delivery of treatments, medications, and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Conduct accurate assessments and document findings thoroughly.
• Develop, review, and revise care plans based on residents' evolving needs.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Administer medications, treatments, and IV fluids safely and accurately.
• Use critical thinking to identify changes in residents’ conditions and notify physicians promptly using SBARR communication.
• Monitor resident care and address issues proactively through quality assurance processes.
• Respond to call lights and assist with activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Maintain current knowledge of nursing practices and policies.
• Perform documentation electronically and in writing, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Handle crisis situations professionally and maintain composure.

Qualifications

• Registered nurse license from an accredited program and current in the state of practice.
• CPR/AED certification (or willingness to obtain within six months).
• Critical thinking, excellent communication, and organizational skills.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, lift, and transfer residents and equipment safely.
• Manual dexterity and visual acuity.
• Experience in long-term care preferred.
