Registered Nurse (RN)- PRN

Position Summary

The PRN Hospice RN provides intermittent, as needed care to Hospice patients in a home care setting, or wherever the patient calls home. Home care settings may consist of a private residence, skilled nursing facility, personal care home, and/or other interim living arrangements. The PRN Hospice RN supports the core hospice team by filling in during staffing absences, periods of high census, or special patient needs.

Requirements

• A graduate of an accredited school of registered nursing.
• Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse through the Kentucky Board of Nursing or participating COMPACT state Board of Nursing.
• One year of general nursing experience is preferred.
• New nursing graduates will be considered.
• Skilled in nursing practice and able to maintain professionalism in moments of emotional stress.
• Provide care in a compassionate nature while serving a diverse population respectfully and professionally.
• Complies with accepted professional and ethical standards and principles.
• Possesses and maintains current CPR certification.
• Have satisfactory references from nursing schools, previous (or current) employers and/or professional peers.
• Have excellent observation, good nursing judgment and communication skills.
• Ability to provide accurate and timely documentation.
• Self-directed to work with minimal supervision and within an interdisciplinary team.
• Flexible and cooperative in fulfilling role obligation to meet the needs of patients and BCN.
