Registered Nurse (RN) - Primary Care
About the role
MaineHealth Primary Care in Scarborough, Maine is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a triage position in an outpatient practice. The role involves assessing and treating patients over the phone using active listening skills and applying established policies and protocols. This is a full‑time position scheduled Tuesday‑Friday, 8:00 am – 6:00 pm.
Responsibilities
- Perform patient assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for calls and in‑person visits.
- Provide a wide variety of patient care services to assist physicians and advanced‑practice practitioners.
- Apply clinical judgment and active listening when triaging patients via telephone.
- Follow established policies and protocols to determine appropriate care and treatment.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary care team to deliver high‑quality care.
Requirements
- Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred).
- License/Certifications: Current applicable state RN license; current BLS certification (or obtain within 30 days of start).
- Experience: Minimum one year of recent RN experience.
Qualifications
MH RN II level: competent in clinical role, able to care for most patients assigned, knows how to obtain appropriate resources to develop skills and knowledge over time. Eligible for automatic advancement after one year as an RN I when in good standing and meeting RN I requirements.

Pay
The base pay range for this position is $34.35 to $46.46 per hour. Part‑time compensation is prorated based on scheduled hours and full‑time equivalent (FTE).
